Metropolis, Fritz Lang’s 1927 masterpiece which entered the public domain in 2023, lives on with a new soundtrack.
Karim Qqru, Roberta Sammarelli, Xabier Iriondo and Corrado Nuccini, a very respectable italian quartet whose names need no introduction, worked on this composition to give their interpretation to the forerunner sci-fi movie.
This project born from the desire to freely experiment with an original soundtrack.
Defined ‘choral’ by the four musicians, where their musical chemistry is clearly perceived from the first listening.
The album is the condensate of what the live shows presented at the beginning of 2025, this work has been recorded and improved in just four intense days at the Modena Music Center where the quartet had full creative freedom to put together their own interpretation of Metropolis.
Resulting in a record that lends itself to listening even outside the classic movie concert.
